Ask most people where the country's power comes from and you will get a shrug. That is not their fault — it is rarely taught plainly. This post is the short version of the Association's answer, written for someone hearing it for the first time.
The one-sentence version
In our reading, the journey of the last century was meant to carry sovereignty out of distant hands and into the hands of the people who actually live here. Understanding that journey is the first step to recognising what we believe is already ours.
Why we look back to 1901
We treat the Constitution of 1901 as the people's foundation — the agreed framework we believe should remain the reference point for legitimate authority. Everything else in our historical thread is about what happened to that foundation over time, and how we read those events.
What to do with this
Sit with it. Test it. Take it to the forum and argue the detail with people who have thought about it longer. You do not have to swallow it whole — you just have to start asking the question.
